The size guide on our website will help you. We have up to ten sizes, depending on the style. We aim to cater for all shapes and types of dachshunds.

Our sizing is not the same as the ones from other dog coat suppliers and hereby cannot be compared.

If you're not sure about which size to buy feel free to contact us in the chat or via email at johanna@dachshundcouture.net, we're happy to help. Please, provide the type of dachshund and its weight in the email and a photo of the dog if possible. We will take it then from there. Sizes of different styles may vary due to different materials.

Our wool winter coats are best washed by hand, although you can wash them on a gentle wool wash cycle at up to 30 degrees. Do not use fabric softeners and make sure you close all Velcro straps before washing. Leave the coat to dry naturally. Do not tumble dry. Open the Velcro straps, pull the coat into shape and lay it flat to dry. These washing instructions also apply to our parkas.

Our navy and tartan waxed cotton rain coats are made of waxed cotton and are not machine washable. All you need do is rinse them off with a hose to get rid of any excess mud or dirt. You can even re-wax them yourself using a special dressing for waxed jackets. The green and yellow rain coats can be machine washed at up to 30 degrees. Do not use fabric softeners and do not tumble dry.

Traditional Loden is made of a naturally water-resistant woollen material. It is best to air dry our Loden coats and then gently pat or wipe off any dirt. Every so often you can hang them outside
to air.

RETURN POLICY

If you wish to return your purchase made on our website please go to

to initiate the return. If you have any trouble doing this, please contact us via email at returns@dachshund-couture.com . We're happy to assist you with finding a better size and with the return process.

All goods must be returned to us within 30 days of delivery, to receive a refund (less postage).

For all returns you will be required to arrange and pay for the return of the goods to us. When returning items you are strongly recommended to obtain proof of posting. Proof of posting will assist you in tracking any shipment which is reported as lost, damaged, mislaid or otherwise undelivered. 

Note: If you received free shipping and return your full order an additional 5,50 € (GER) or 7,50€ (worldwide) shipping fee will be deducted from your refund.

If you wish to receive the article in a different size or style, please place a new order. If you have any questions e.g. regarding sizing, please feel free to ask them in your return request email or send an email to johanna@dachshund-couture.com . We are always happy to help you!

Shipping costs at return are at the expense of the buyer. Items must be unworn, unwashed and in original condition. Please note all items marked final sale or custom made items are not eligible for return.

Parcel deliveries within Germany are sent with DHL. For deliveries outside Germany we use the courier services of Deutsche Post.

When your order has been dispatched we will send you an email containing a tracking number. You can track the shipping status of your order on dhl.de or deutschepost.de.

For international orders, once your item has left Germany, you can track your parcel on the website of the destination country’s postal service.

Our parkas feature a zip along the back to accommodate a harness.

All our other coats are designed without a harness opening.
There are so many different types of harness and the opening would have to be
so long to accommodate them all that your dog might start to feel the cold.
Also, the fabric used in our wool coats is superlight and specifically chosen
for added comfort. A zip would only make the fabric heavier and the coat less attractive. We recommend that you put your dog’s harness over the coat, or have an opening made for your harness exactly where you need it. We do not take orders to custom sew harness openings as this would mean that you would not be able to return or exchange the item in case it doesn't fit. The most important thing is that the coat fits comfortably. You’ll always be able to find a local professional to sew a harness opening if that is what you want.

Our winter 2023/2024 collection is only available online and not sold through retailers. However, we do have a showroom in Munich (the address can be found under “Shops”). If you are a retailer and would like to represent us by selling our winter 2023/2024 collection in your shop please get in touch via email julia@dachshund-couture.com and we'll take it from there!

Yes, they can! Our sizes are based on the back length. If the length of your dog’s back is the same as one of our dachshund measurements, it makes no difference if its legs happen to be longer. Just write an email to johanna@dachshundcouture.net with a photo, the back length and weight of your dog and we can help you decide which size would be best for your dog.

Your order may be subject to import duties and taxes, which are levied once a shipment reaches your country. Customs taxes & duties are not included in your shipping fee. Dachshund Couture cannot control and is not responsible for any duties/taxes applied to your package. You will be responsible for paying additional charges for customs clearance. Customs policies vary widely from country to country; please contact your local customs office for further information. 

 Note, on rare occasions custom agents may delay delivery of some packages. If you refuse a shipment from Dachshund Couture, you are responsible for the original shipping charges, any import fees, duties and/or taxes that are incurred on the package, and the cost of returning the package to Dachshund Couture. This amount will be deducted from your merchandise refund. In the instance that the return fee exceeds the amount of the merchandise plus shipping costs, the package will be abandoned and you will not be refunded. If your order has been sent to a destination outside Europe, customs duties and sales taxes are non-refundable through Dachshund Couture. 

However, you may be able to recover these by contacting your local customs bureau directly. As this may not be available for all countries, we recommend that you hire a customs broker if you wish to claim back duties on returned merchandise. Please note that it can take up to 10 business days for the refund to appear in your account.

However, when we ship parcels containing exchange orders this information is written on the shipping label to avoid you having to pay customs duties twice. Instructions on how to complete a customs declaration form for returns sent from abroad can be found on the returns label provided with orders from outside the EU.

Yes, gift vouchers can be bought online from our website. You can choose from different values in the online shop.
